RENTHAL REVO-F PEDALS (ALUGOLD)

With Ride-Tuned external features and patent pending internals, the Revo-F is the new flat pedal of choice.

Featuring a two-axis concave pedal body, fully useable pedal platform and a pin system for fine tuning grip levels, the Revo-F offers unrivalled on-trail performance.

The Revo-F spins on an extra wide Igus bush and three cartridge bearings, with the internals fully sealed from the elements. Patent pending internals allow easy home maintenance, using standard tools.

The Renthal Revo-F is packed with unique features to deliver the ultimate Ride-Tuned on trail performance, tuneable grip levels, ease of maintenance and bomb-proof durability.

Ride-tuned
Fully concave platform, in two axis, to give the highest leve lof support and control. The Deep concave profile is achieved whilst still retaining a thin outer Depth of just 18 mm. In addition to this, asymmetric pin positioning and an increased width axle makes the full platform and all ten pins useable, for all shoe sizes.
                                                 
                                                                                                   

Tuneable grip
Revo-F pedals come factory fitted with ten 5.5 mm height pins per side. Supplied with the pedals are a further forty pins and forty washers. Using a combination of these, the pin height can be adjust from 5.5 mm to either 4.5 mm, 3.5 mm or 2.5 mm, making them one of the most tuneable pedals available. Additionally, all the pins are screw-thougt type, so can be easily removed if damaged though impact.

                                                                                              

Unique axle system
The patent pending axle system. Features in the Revo-F, allows full home servicing, using standard tolos, found in anyone’s toolkit. All is required is a 6 mm and 8 mm hex-key, a standard 8 mm socket, a torque wrench and a Mallet. The unique system uses the axle to both remove and re-install the bushing. The bearings are also press into place using the pedal internals.

                                                                                           

Durable internals
Inboard, the Revo-F spins on a extra-wide Igus Bush, sealed with a full-contact wiper seal. Outboard there are three cartridge bearings. Two smaller bearings and a larger bearing in the outer most location, sealed with an end-cap O-ring. Adding to the durability of the bearings is the full length axle. Mounting the bearing at he outer Edge of the pedals gives them the best support, to protect them from damage in a rock-strike incident.

                                                                                        

Forged and CNC
The main body of the Rev-F in made from forged, 6061 aluminium. The pedal in then fully CNC machined, to remove as much material as posible. To improve rock strike performance, the front fase of the pedal has been kept smooth without any cut-outs. This allows the pedal to slide over rocks, rather tan grabbing at them. Internally, the pedal body pins smoothly around a high-grade, forged, machined and precisión-ground chomoly axle.

                                                                                     

External Specifications
- Forged and CNC machined, 6061 aluminium body.
- Fully concave platform in two axis. Not just using pin height to achieve this, the body is full concave in both axis.

- Large parallelogram body profile. 104 mm x 100 mm.
- The pedal features ten pins per side, with tuneable pin height. With a combination ot the suppied short and long pins and 1 mm washers, the pin height is adjustable in 1 mm increments, from 2.5 mm to 5.5 mm.

- Unique axle system, with patent pending servicing technology. The patent pending technology uses the axle to remove and install the Igus bush, without the need for specialist tools. Only tools needed:

Design Rationale

As a key contact point, the level of performance of the pedal and rider choice needed to align with our renowned handlebar, stem and grip range. Obviously making the pedal as durable as possible was a massive driver behind our design rationale. As always, from the outset, we wanted to make the lightest product possible. But, with the Revo-F project, we refused to compromise our design goals just to chase a few grams. To explain these key features;

- To give the ultimate control, we added material to develop a genuine, deep concave body.
- Having a fully usable pedal platform was achieved by increasing the axle length of the Revo-F, to offset the pedal from the crank.
- Rock strike durability of the bearings was improved with our full-length axle, which is essential for flat pedals.

- To improve rock strike performance, keeping the front face of the pedal smooth, to slide over rocks, rather than grabbing at them is an important feature, not to be forgotten.
- Long-term durability of the internals is essential and the inclusion of an extra-long Igus bush and three cartridge bearings, coupled with a fully sealed design has achieved this.
